Explore Science

Explore Science is a fun way for our Explorers to learn with their parents, grandparents and/or other volunteers about the wonderful world of science. The program is offered for grades K-5 and is predetermined by grade level lesson plans to help reinforce and enhance the classroom curriculum.

Explore Science is a great way to get the kids excited about science by doing some practical real world demonstrations they can see, touch, and feel. No science background is required, so anyone can volunteer. Volunteers can come for the entire day or just for their child's classroom session.

Lead Coordinator gathers and maintains materials and lessons (framework provided), and coordinates with and trains Grade-Level Coordinators.  Each Grade-level coordinator works with Lead Coordinator to solicit help for the day of the event, and helps familiarize volunteers with the experiments. Day of the event, volunteers lead experiments for students, all day, or part-day sessions available. We encourage you to volunteer for additional sessions in addition to your own child’s class.
